Christenings (Baptisms)

When Baptising your child you are thanking God for the gift of life, deciding to start your child on the journey of faith and asking for the Church's support.

For your child, baptism marks the start of a journey of faith, turning from the darkness towards Christ and becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family.

We have an ancient font at the rear of the church where the ceremony takes place.

Baptisms usually take place in the Family Service but can be held on any Sunday.

Funerals

A funeral is used to mark the end of a person's life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God's keeping. We can cater for a small, quiet ceremony or a large occasion with the church packed. Everyone is entitled to either a burial service (funeral) or to have their ashes buried in their local parish churchyard by their local parish priest.
